Treatments mainly consist of adjustments in which the chiropractor uses his hands to restore normal joint motion. Therapies such as interferential current, laser therapy and ultrasound will be applied as required. Instruction may be given for at-home activities regarding nutrition and exercise. Laser acupuncture therapy to quit smoking is an additional therapy provided by Dr. Robert Palaschuk.
Most people feel relaxed, more comfortable and with more flexibility. In some patients, an adjustment may cause the muscles around the spine to be sore and tender. This is not unusual and will last only a day or two. This tenderness can be compared to the discomfort felt after a good workout at the gym.
There are 3 phases of chiropractic care:
The healing process can take time. Depending on the injury, you may respond after only one or a few treatments. No two patients are the same, so even if two patients have the same injury, they may not heal in the same amount of time.
How long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you. Prevention is key in all aspects of your health.
