CHIROPRACTIC THERAPY TREATMENT OPTIONS IN WINNIPEG

McGregor Chiropractic Centre provides three levels of care to our patients, and through discussions with each patient, we develop a treatment plan designed to meet his or her individual needs.

Our primary goal is to provide relief from any pain or discomfort our patients may be experiencing, following which our care is directed at restoring spinal health or mechanics.

Our third level, or “prevention care”, is designed to focus on providing both supportive care to maximize spinal health, as well as providing lifestyle and exercise recommendations to improve quality of life.

Treatment Options

  • Specific manipulative procedures

Your chiropractor performs specific manipulative procedures that are designed to relieve pressure on joints, reduce tissue inflammation and improve nerve function.

  • Interferential current therapy

Interferential current therapy involves passing electrical currents (-4000HZ) through the affected area of the patient’s body in order to produce an increase in localized blood flow, stimulate local nerve cells, and provide some degree of muscle stimulation and/or contraction.

  • Laser therapy

Low light laser therapy is a sterile, non-invasive treatment that administers specific wavelengths of light to supply energy to the body and optimize immune response. Laser therapy can heal wounds and fractures up to 60% faster and also reduce the cost of treatment for many conditions.

  • Low voltage current therapy

Low voltage current therapy, also known as micro-current therapy, employs pulsating, extremely low-voltage electrical currents to provide relief of pain and stimulate healing. Low voltage current therapy increases blood circulation and allows healthy cells to regenerate.

  • Magnetic pulse therapy

Magnetic Pulse Therapy (MPT) is a well-established form of energy medicine used as a treatment for healing bone and joint fractures but its usefulness has been shown in clinical usage to be systemic to all functions of the body.

  • Therapeutic ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound therapy uses sound waves to deliver deep heat to affected tissues, minimizing pain and movement dysfunction, reducing stiffness and swelling, and increasing circulation.

  • Exercise programs

Cardiovascular and strengthening exercises combined with chiropractic care are important in the management of various types of pain. A reasonable exercise program that is performed daily is recommended for patients undergoing chiropractic treatment.

  • Nutritional advice

McGregor Chiropractic Centre offers nutritional advice to patients because nutrition and healthy living are the keys to wellness and a long life.

  • Traction

Chiropractic traction is one of the most widely used and accepted treatments for spinal, muscle and skeletal pain. Chiropractic traction may also help to relieve the pain caused by herniated or bulging discs or by disc degenerative disorders.

  • Smoking cessation

Cigarette smoking can cause hair loss, cracked skin and wrinkles, yellow teeth, asthma, vocal cord damage, osteoporosis, poor circulation, bronchitis, lung damage, organ failure, cancer and death. At McGregor Chiropractic Centre we employ laser acupuncture therapy to fight the addiction and give you back your life.
